Under the Government's ECO Scheme, qualifying home owners and private tenants can have home insulation, renewables and even heating systems installed either free of charge, or heavily reduced.
The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a UK Government energy efficiency scheme to help reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty. It means that energy companies are obliged to fund energy efficiency measures in the homes of those who can least afford the cost of these upgrades. If you would like to find out more about the Government's ECO Scheme, please see the below link to Ofgem's website.
ECO funding may be available to anyone at any income level, when they are in receipt of certain benefits. These benefits requirements are mentioned below and regulated by the governing body Ofgem.
In order to benefit from ECO 4 you must own your own home or have the permission of your landlord or management company and be in receipt of one of the following benefits:
The ECO Flex Scheme helps those householders who are not in receipt of means tested benefits but who are living on a low income and are vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home. Under ECO4 Flex, a participating Local Authority (LA), can refer private tenure households that it considers to be living in fuel poverty or on a low income and vulnerable to the effects of living in a cold home. If you would like to find out more about the Government's ECO LA Flex Scheme, please see the below link to Ofgem's website.
If you aren't eligible for ECO Funding, you may still have access to a grant through ECO Flex Funding. Criteria for ECO Flex Funding is set by local councils, but as a general rule the Government threshold is having less than £26,000 in savings.
If you believe that you are eligibile for a free government grant under the ECO scheme and would like to arrange for a survey of your home then please fill out the below form and a member of the team will be in touch.
